Infantry
The basic unit in the game. Infantry can be built singularly
or in squads. Squads increase the firepower and are
quicker to move. Only really useful in huge numbers (5
squads or more), they can however capture enemy
buildings.

advanced infantry units, armed with rocket launchers.
Very useful against tanks and structures. (And about
almost anything else).Like the infantry units, they can
also capture enemy buildings.

Trike (Available
From The Starport)
There
are two versions of the trike, the Atreides and Ordos.
The Ordos' version is quicker, but has no armour, the
Atreides' version is slower and has armour. Best used as
a scouting lookout, to uncover the map.

Combat Tank
(Available From The Starport)
The
first Tank you will be able to build. It's quick-ish and
packs a reasonable punch. A good use for these is base
defence and escorts to rocket launchers.

Heavy Siege
Tank
(Available From The Starport) Another
unit that is unavailable to the Atreides, the heavy siege
tank is more than a combat tank with a huge gun mounted
to it! With heavy armour to add to the equation, it makes
for a very useful unit to lead attacks.

are a very useful addition to any side. Ordos' version is
a special unit and they cannot build the standard
version. They can however purchase the standard version
from the starport

Harvester (Available
From The Starport) Arguably
the most important unit in the game, without these, you
are not going to get very far. It is desperately slow,
but heavily armoured, so not best deployed in the middle
of the battle field. It will however automatically run
over any foot units that attack it. (Making a sickening
crunching sound and leaving a rather nice red mark behind
on the sand!) - Ah, that sound brings back memories..;-)

to credits |
|
|
Carry All (Available
From The Starport)
These
are probally the most usefull unit in the army. They can
transport harvesters or any other wheeled unit around the
map. The harvesters go to and from the refineries, and
the vehicles to and from the repair depot. Rather
expensive, but in the later levels where you must get as
many credits as possible, these units keep the credits
coming as fast as they are harvested!

MCV (Mobile
Construction Vehicle) (Available
From The Starport)
Another
usefull (and in some missions, vital) unit, the MCV is a
mobile Construction Vehicle. It can move around the map
and deploy itself anywhere you like (as long as it's on
rock). Quite expensive at 900 credits, but it can be
picked up for a bargin from the starport.

Sonic Tank
(Special Unit)
Only
available to the Atreides (to make up for no WOR or Siege
tank, no doubt), these tanks are unique in the way they
work, they fire sonic waves at their target, making it a
deadly addition to any army. Only one problem with this
unit, the sound waves damage all units within it's range,
even friendly. Best used with care.

lightly armored vehicles. All units in the path
of the sonic wave will be damaged |
|
|
Ordos
Deviator (Special Unit)
Only
available to the Ordos, this unit is not a offensive
weapon at all, it is a modified Rocket Launcher that
fires nerve gas at it's target. If successful, it causes
the unit's loyalty to temporarily change, best used
against Harkonnen Devastators, deviate and
self-destruct them inside their own base!

fires a warhead which changes the allegiance of
the vehicle for a time but does not effect
infantry units |
|
|
Harkonnen
Devastator (Special Unit)
This
huge tank is the main battle tank of the Harkonnens,
Quite slow but heavily armoured, it is a force to be
reckoned with, well only if in groups. Easily defeated if
used on it's own. However, when it explodes the force of
the explosion causes damage to the near-by area. Useful
as a kamikaze unit, trundle it into an opponents base,
park it next to a structure (or two) and issue the
self-destruct command.

greatly damaged. Also can be set to self-destruct
causing damage to the surrounding area |

Death Hand (Special Unit)
Ok,

woefully inaccurate though. Aim where the highest
concentration of the enemy is, and you may

Sardaukar (Special Unit)
The
sardaukar were in Dune2, a bit pathetic and weak, they
were no challange (except when they were dropped behind
your base and the nearest unit was miles away!) They
appear to have gained a machine gun in this version. Nice
for cutting up infantry with.
